Materials and Measurements

Note: Quantities are approximate as they vary between knitters.

Needle Sizes

  • 3.25mm and 4.00mm knitting needles.
  • 3.25mm double-pointed needles (DPNs) or circular needles with a 60 cm cord for the neckline.
  • Stitch holders and tapestry needle.

Instructions Overview

  • Back: Cast on and work in stocking stitch until the armhole shaping.  Decrease stitches for armhole shaping.
  • Front: The front is worked similarly to the back with neckline shaping. The neckline is shaped using decreases.
  • Sleeves: The sleeves are knit flat, increasing at regular intervals to create the desired shape. Decrease for sleeve cap shaping.
  • Neckband: After the body and sleeves are finished, stitches are picked up around the neckline and worked in the round to form the neckband.

Stitch Patterns

  • Stocking Stitch (St st):
    • Knit on the right side, purl on the wrong side.

Finishing

  • Seams: Use a three-needle bind-off for the shoulder seams or another preferred method. Sew the sleeves into place and join the side and sleeve seams using mattress stitch.
  • Blocking: Block the jumper to the specified measurements for a neat and finished look.
